The broadest report is not automatically the correct report
Indiana’s service menu exists because background-check purposes differ. A requester asking for an Indiana-only name search may not need a national fingerprint product. Conversely, a licensing or employment rule that calls for fingerprint-based history cannot be satisfied by calling the name-based Limited Criminal History “close enough.” The product name should be copied from the requirement whenever possible.
ISP also repeats a county-participation caveat. That warning is important when a user interprets “no records found” as an absolute statement.
